By using Metis ("we", "our", or "us") — including the askmetis.co website and the Metis Chrome extension — you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Use of the Service

Metis is a science fact-checking tool that searches PubMed and other scientific databases to provide context on health and science claims. You may use Metis only for lawful, personal, or professional research purposes.

You agree not to:

• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the Metis API
• Resell or redistribute Metis search results as your own product
• Use Metis to generate or spread misinformation
• Circumvent search credit limits or billing systems

Accounts and Credits

Some features require a Metis account. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Search credits are non-transferable and non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

Subscription plan changes take effect at the start of your next billing period. We do not prorate partial periods.

Accuracy Disclaimer

Metis surfaces scientific literature to help you evaluate claims — it does not provide medical advice. Results reflect published research at the time of the search and may not represent the full body of evidence. Always consult a qualified professional for medical, legal, or financial decisions.

Intellectual Property

Metis and its underlying software are owned by us. Article titles, abstracts, and links sourced from PubMed and Semantic Scholar remain the property of their respective publishers and are provided under their respective terms.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Metis is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Metis after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
